The re-release of the Color Riche Le Matte and La Lacque Lip Color Pens was definitely a huge deal to me. I got my hands on some of them a few years ago when they were originally released as a limited edition collection. To say the least, I was very sad to not be able to repurchase these lip colors, as were many others. Thankfully, due to popular demand, we can celebrate their permanent return with new and exciting colors.
I am in love with the formula, which has a wear of about 4-5 hours and easily provides a beautiful even coverage. The fact that I do not need to touch up often is ideal for someone like me, who needs a lip color to last throughout an eight hour work day. However, I do find that wearing a clear lip liner helps not only the longevity, but also any feathering or bleeding along the lip line.
The Le Matte shades are not drying on the lips, and feel very lightweight. If you’re looking for more of a shine, the La Lacques will give you a subtle gloss while still providing that full coverage color payoff with just a few swipes on the lip. The matte shades tend to have a little less pigment than the lacquers, but again, both are long-wearing. They both also have a nice light floral scent.
The packaging of the retractable pen is nice and sleek, with each color corresponding to what you will see inside. Each tip is slightly pointed for easy application. I’m a sucker for catchy names, and I have to say I think the name selection for this collection was pretty clever.
I picked mine up at Target for $8.99 a piece, however, these can also be found at Ulta for $1 more.
Now let’s see the 6 shades I have collected so far!
