We all have those mornings where we jump out of bed like a ninja, realizing we slept in too late. Or those nights when our significant other is impatiently waiting in the next room for us to get ready. Today we’re going to keep things short and sweet, as we discuss seventeen of the best beauty hacks that will speed up your daily routine.

1. Cornstarch As Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is a must-have on those days where you don’t have time to wash your hair. If you don’t have any on hand, try using cornstarch instead. Cornstarch is actually the main ingredient in most dry shampoo. Save the cash and the time by using this common kitchen find to absorb that oil.

2. Translucent Powder Over Lipstick
Want to hop on the matte lipstick bandwagon, but don’t own any mattes? Place a thin sheet of tissue over the lips, and press translucent powder on top with a fluffy brush. This will not only mattify your lip color, but it will also keep your pout in place all day long.

3. Use Foam Tip Applicators to Erase Mascara Mishaps
Don’t throw away those has-been foam tip eyeshadow applicators just yet! If you get mascara on your freshly blended eyeshadow, wait for it to dry completely and then gently smudge the problem spot away with a foam tip applicator. The mascara will simply flake off, leaving your eye makeup perfectly polished once again.

4. Tap Your Wrists After Applying Perfume
Instead of rubbing your wrists together after applying your favorite fragrance, gently tap them together instead. Rubbing wrists together actually crushes the perfume molecules, which is obviously no good. On the other hand, tapping the wrists extends the wear of each and every note in your fragrance.

5. Mix Moisturizer with Foundation
Adding a bit of moisturizer to foundation sheers it out, making even the most full-coverage formulas into tinted moisturizer. This trick is perfect for those days when you don’t feel like caking on the makeup, but don’t want to purchase a million different foundation formulas.

6. Set Eyeliner with Powder
Just like foundation, setting your eyeliner with powder will keep it in place all day long. If you have trouble keeping kohl eyeliners on your water line or lower lash line, try pressing the same color eyeshadow right on top for an all day wear.

7. Curl Your Ponytail for Long and Beachy Waves
If you’re pressed for time, but still want those pretty boho curls, this hack is for you. Throw your hair into a high, loose ponytail and curl your hair in 2-4 sections depending on thickness. Let your hair down, and voila! You have beachy waves in less than 5 minutes.

8. Re-Wet Dry Makeup Wipes
If you find that the “resealable” bag for your makeup wipes was not so resealable, simply run them under water. If you use just a small amount of water, they’ll be good as new and ready to use.

9. Hairspray Your Bobby Pins
Spraying bobbies with hairspray will make them tacky. This allows them to grab onto the hair so that they won’t budge. This trick is perfect for those loose boho styles that just never seem to stay put.

10. Hairspray a Spoolie to Tame Your Brows
Grab a disposable spoolie (mascara wand), and spray it will hairspray. Run it through your brows, and you’ve got no need for that $20 brow gel, girlfriend.

11. Tissue Paper to Blot Oil
Tissue paper is a great dupe for oil blotting papers. Cut up a few sheets, and throw them in a business card holder. You, my friend, have just saved yourself some hard-earned cash.

12. Bronzer as Eyeshadow
While you have your bronzer out anyway, go ahead and apply it to your crease. This will add definition to your eyes, without breaking out an eyeshadow palette. If you have your highlight ready, you can use that as your lid shadow as well. This is a great everyday look for the eyes, and it takes seconds.

13. Baby Powder as Lash Primer
Dust a coat of baby powder on your lashes before applying mascara, and it gives a thicker and longer appearance to the lashes. Be careful not to apply too much powder, as it can cause clumps if you get a little too generous.

14. Use a Rubber Band to Open Nail Polish Bottles
Having trouble opening that nail polish bottle? Wrap a rubber band around the top! This allows you to get a snug grip on the bottle for easy opening.

15. Elmer’s Glue to Clean Up Nail Polish Mistakes
Carefully paint Elmer’s Glue around your nails to create a mistake-proof mani stencil. When you’re done painting and the polish is dry, peel the glue away to reveal a super sharp paint job.

16. Smudge Mascara on the Lower Lash Line
If you’re running short on time (or eyeliner), wiggle your mascara at the bottom of your lash line to create a smoky liner look.

17. Use Cream Blush on Lips

While you have that cream blush out, pop it onto your lips as well. It’ll give you that “your lips but better” look, as well as a natural flush to the cheeks.
